Getting Married in Malaysia

Marriage Requirements


To wed in Malaysia, both you and your spouse to be will need to provide notification to the Office of the Registrar of Marriages in the district you intend to wed.  Prior to this, you will have to take up residence within the said district for a minimum of seven days.  Notices are then placed on the notice board for a time length of 21 to 90 days.  After the 21st day, you can then obtain your marriage license which is valid for six months.  You and your spouse to be will be required to provide passports with a copy of your entry date into Malaysia, a Standard Malaysian sized coloured passport photograph, Borang JPNKCO1 application form, and an affidavit of your marital status.  You will be required to pay 30 RM to cover the cost of the process.  To gather more information, click HERE.
