Getting Married in Slovenia

If you are interested in a stunning and spectacular European destination for your wedding, a destination wedding in Slovenia may be the ideal spot.  Slovenia is located in Central Europe and is a land of fairytale magic with many majestic venues to say “I do” like the small white church located on a small island in the middle of Lake Bled.

Marriage Requirements

In Slovenia, only civil ceremonies are recognized as legally binding; however, couples can follow the ceremony with a religious ceremony.  To get married you will need to register your marriage with the Administrative Unit of the Registry Office where you intend to wed.  You can do this up to six month in advance but no less than 14 days prior to your intended wedding date.  You will need valid passports, birth certificates, and a non-impediment.  If either of you have been widowed or divorced, you will need relevant documents.  Once you have submitted your documents, you can then settle your wedding date.  After your ceremony is concluded, a marriage certificate will be issued.  For more information please click HERE.
